Hey Everyone: As we all know it's
going to be another hot day out there (heat index in the 105-110 range). Please look at your outdoor operations and make
sure heat injury prevention awareness is a part of your daily routine. Attached is a CHPPM heat injury prevention pdf.
The last half of the document is a commander / supervisor guide to risk management of heat casualties.
It gives you the risk management tools and info to prevent this kind of problem. - Amy E. Green

Re: Christmas for Safeplace Family
This
is a list of sizes and some suggestions for the family you have adopted. I do not have a specific list, but anything in the
age range will be fine. We ask that you do not buy any toys that pertain to violence, bicycles or skate boards. If possible
we would like to have the gifts no later than December 10th. We ask that you not wrap the children’s gifts so that
the mother will be able to do this herself. This helps her feel like she has contributed to her children’s Christmas.
Thank you so much for helping Santa. Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.

Dear Sisters,
The Tennessee Valley Alumnae Association is beginning a philanthropy project to collect tabs (a.k.a. pop-tops) for
the Ronald McDonald House. We will be working on this year round project with the Zeta Eta Chapter to help raise money
for the RM House. This will be an easy project, and it would be wonderful if everyone could help by collecting the tabs
at your workplace, home, church, community center, a near by school, or any other great place that you can think of for this
project. TVAA will be collecting the tabs throughout the year during any of our alumnae meetings/socials or ZH events.
If you need a place to drop the tabs off before a TVAA or ZH event you can take the tabs to the ZH Chapter room or you can
contact me (Ashley), and I will take care of them.
Here are a few fun facts about tabs you might want to share:
- We only collect the tabs because it's a higher grade of aluminum, plus
it's much cleaner.
- Over 400 million tabs have been collected generating over $300,000
- It takes 900 tabs to equal one pound, so each tab counts
Thank you again so much, and if you have any questions or need anything please let me know.
Loyally,
Ashley Miner Stutts

Florence, AL; North Alabama (Tennessee Valley) Alumnae Association was instrumental in organizing a 30th Anniversary (Feb.17, 1973) celebration
for the Zeta Eta chapter at the University of North Alabama. Zeta Eta was the first sorority on this campus so our anniversary was
monumental not only to our chapter, but all over campus and in the community. The anniversary event was held March 1, 2003
with an open house of the Alpha Delta Pi chapter room, Jewel Degree, and continued into the evening with a semi-formal / banquet
including a slide show, awards, dancing & old friends meeting the Chapter's new sisters. All guests that attended brought
canned items & cleaning products for donation to the Ronald McDonald House.
The
TVAA has also volunteered time & money to the Zeta Eta chapter for Recruitment, workshops & remodeling of the chapter
room. The association mails a semi-annual newsletter, and has begun to have quarterly meetings in 2003. Also, new to our association
this year is an email account & web site (http://tvaaadpi.tripod.com). This has been instrumental in helping all of us keep in touch with our TVAA members & ZH alumnae that are not so close
to home. If you wish to be added to our mailing list please contact us by email (TVAAadpi@hotmail.com) or snail mail (P.O. Box 668
- Florence, AL 35631).
At Grand
Convention (July 25 - 29, 2003) TVAA won Diamond 4 Point for Alumnae Associations and Achievement Award. In November the Zeta Eta chapter welcomed
TVAA & their chapter’s alumnae on for UNA’s Homecoming with an Open House. They will also be welcoming everyone
back on December 7, 2003 for ZH’s Annual Alumnae/Chapter Christmas Tea.
We
are excited about continuing in 2004 to live true to our ever faithful motto, "We Live For Each Other" by supporting our undergraduate
chapter and teaching them by example that Alpha Delta Pi is for a lifetime!
