The Zeta Eta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi is helping to raise money for Ronald McDonald House (RMH) by holding the 4th Annual Run for Ronald 5K.

The Zeta Eta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi is helping to raise money for Ronald McDonald House (RMH), a non-profit organization that lends a hand to helping families in need. The Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham opened in 1979, and has served over 29,000 families while providing a "home away from home" for those families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. In 2006 alone, 199 families from North Alabama called the Birmingham Ronald McDonald House "home". Each year Alpha Delta Pi has a fundraiser to help support this very worthy cause. This year the 4th Annual Run for Ronald 5K Run/Walk, to be held on Saturday April 12, 2008, is our major fundraiser. We are asking for your tax-deductible contribution as a run/walker OR a corporate sponsor in order to help us support the RMH.

The Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham opened the doors on its new building in June of 2007. This new facility has 41 bedrooms, 10 more than the previous house, enabling more families from Alabama and other locations to utilize the new House. In order to continue supporting the RMH & help them to continue providing needed services that directly benefit the families with sick children in Alabama, Alpha Delta Pi is asking that you join other people in the area and contribute as a runner, walker and/or corporate sponsor for Alpha Delta Pi’s 4th Annual Run For Ronald 5K Run/Walk philanthropy project .

5K Course Narrative

Start on North Pine Street as described below, go south to West Irving Street. Turn right (west) on West Irving Street to North Cypress Street. Turn right (north) on North Cypress Street to Larimore Street. Turn left (west) on Larimore Street to North Locust Street. Turn right (north) on North Locust Street to Waterloo Road. Turn left (west) on Waterloo Road to Wildwood Park Road. Turn right (north) on Wildwood Park Road to Cumberland Street. Turn right (east) on Cumberland Street to Dixie Avenue. Turn left (north) on Dixie Avenue to Stewart Avenue. Turn right (southeast) on Stewart Avenue to Cumberland Street. Turn left (northeast) on Cumberland Street to North Pine Street. Turn right (south) on North Pine Street to entrance of UNA track. Turn right (west) at a cone, as described below, onto UNA track. Run clockwise on track to finish.

5K - Start: Going south on North Pine Street, 37' 4" north of northwest support pole for traffic signal in front of Flowers Hall.
5K - 1 Mile: On Waterloo Road, 48' east of utility pole #13.
5K - 2 Mile: On Cumberland Street, 201' west of utility pole S1014.
5K - 3 Mile: On North Pine Street, 95' 6" north of fire hydrant adjacent to UNA practice field.
5K - Finish: On UNA track, even with 3rd light pole on south edge of track, counting clockwise from Pine Street entrance to track. Course enters track from Pine Street entrance, and runs clockwise on the track to finish.
5K - Cone Placement: On North Pine Street, at curb 6' 6" north of north edge of pavement at entrance to track.

One Mile Course Narrative

Start on UNA track as described below, running clockwise on track. Make almost a complete lap on track, exiting to North Pine Street at cone described below. Run south on North Pine Street to Oakview Circle. Turn right (west) on Oakview Circle to North Pine Street. Turn left (north) on North Pine Street to entrance of UNA track. Turn left (west) at a cone, as described below, onto UNA track. Run clockwise on track to finish.

1 Mile - Start: On UNA track, even with south edge of pavement at Pine Street entrance to track, running clockwise on track.
1 Mile - Finish: Same as 5K finish.
1 Mile - Cone Placement: On North Pine Street, at curb 9' 9" south of south edge of pavement at entrance to track.
